There is a pattern to Obito's scars, a map only Kisame has charted, acting as the sole cartographer of his companion's body.
The most tender scars are those swirling across Obito's face, circling his Sharingan and stretching from chin to scalp. They are deep lines, wrinkles in the flesh that cast shadows no matter the time of day. Kisame touches those scars the most gently, tracing their edges with lips and fingertips, sending sweet shivers racing through Obito's body. Perhaps those scars are so sensitive because they are untouched by any substitute flesh; perhaps they make Obito moan because they are entirely his. Whatever the case, Kisame kisses them whenever he can, soft and sweet, delighted to bring a smile to Obito's scarred visage.
Then there are the scars that cut down Obito's torso, melding his original flesh with the inhumanly pale replacement. Trial and error have taught Kisame that Obito's bone-white substitute feels few sensations. So Kisame focuses instead on the line between one type of flesh and the other, tracing it with his tongue, pressing wet kisses from collarbone all the way to pelvis. Those touches make Obito squirm the most, his gorgeous face flushed, the color quickly spreading to paint half his chest faintly red. Kisame cannot help but grin between kisses, giggling whenever he dips his tongue into Obito's navel and hears his companion squawk with laughter. It is the one place that Obito is always ticklish, and Kisame shamelessly takes advantage of it.
The scars on Obito's hip and leg are less severe, yet they garner no less attention from Kisame. He learns which scars are sensitive and which are numb; he learns where Obito prefers soft lips and where he prefers the sharp scrape of teeth. He finds scars older than the rest, nicks on both knees from an active childhood, and he worships each one, relishing the stories they hold. Obito teases Kisame when he does so, claiming he does not understand the appeal of knees. However, when their positions are reversed, Obito kisses every nick from a blade that Kisame has ever suffered—so really, Obito has no room to talk.
If he had to pick, Kisame would say his favorite scars are the ones on Obito's hands. They are numerous: tiny, pale lines on knuckles and palms, so faint that they are only visible in just the right light. They are scars only a shinobi would recognize; they are the scars brought on by countless hours spent training, physical evidence of blood shed in the name of strength. They are proof of Obito's effort, his spirit, his unquenchable determination. They are beautiful. And when Kisame takes Obito's hand and kisses each one, Obito gazes at him with unbearable fondness, as though he would like nothing more than for Kisame to hold his hand forever.
Kisame may be the only one who has ever charted Obito's body. But as far as he is concerned, that makes him the most fortunate man alive.
