kasarin/Every year, Kisame takes Suigetsu trick-or-treating. Every year, he spends his night chatting with Tobirama, trying to work up the courage to ask Tobirama on a date.
Maybe this will be the year Kisame finally does it.
kasarin/"What the hell do you mean, you're a were-shark?"
kasarin/Truth be told, Kisame has never understood the appeal of Halloween. But he loves how much Obito loves the holiday—and when the weather ruins Obito's plans, Kisame is determined to save the night.
kasarin/Against his will, Kisame's foot takes a shuffling step, bumping against the bottom of the staircase. Get out, something within him pleads. Get out, get out, get out!
Then another voice reverberates through his body, deep and resonant, filling his soul with pure purpose:
Come closer.
kasarin/Tobirama's hands snap out, seizing Obito's shirt as his foot sweeps Obito's legs, knocking his enemy off balance. Then he shoves, tackling Obito to the earth, his hands still clenched in ash-scented fabric, knees straddling Obito's hips.
"Shut up!" Tobirama growls. "Would you rather I had killed you? Do you want this to end with your blood on my blade?"

kasarin/For Kisame, this isn't about playing at control. This is about accepting what Itachi surrenders. This is about facing and devouring every flash of vulnerability. This is about cradling his partner close, forcing himself to feel the trust that Itachi shows.
This is about convincing himself that he isn't a monster.
kasarin/Night has fallen on the Uchiha encampment, leaving large swaths bathed in darkness, the uniformity of night broken by torchlight. Sentries patrol the perimeter, their Sharingan gleaming, promising death to any who dare approach. But Tobirama's shadow clone needn't worry; he infiltrated the encampment days ago.
Besides, an Uchiha has already discovered him.

kasarin/Tobirama knows his place.
kasarin/They are all they have.
Their mother is dead, their brothers killed. Their father yet lives, but he sees them as shinobi first, assets second, heirs third, and sons somewhere far below. In a clan that prides itself on love, Tobirama has only Hashirama, and Hashirama has only him.
kasarin/This isn't the first time they've done this. But as Tobirama pulls Obito's hair, making his enemy arch and hiss beneath him, he tells himself it will be the last. He tells himself that he can't keep doing this. He tells himself that he doesn't want to do this.
Tobirama tells himself all sorts of lies. But he never truly believes them.
kasarin/Obito believes some anniversaries will always be difficult. All he can do is grit his teeth and wait for the anniversary to pass.
Temari believes otherwise—and she's determined to prove it.
kasarin/Samehada's power comes at a price: it gradually devours its wielder's memories. But in Kisame's opinion, that's a small price to pay. After all, how can he miss something he can scarcely recall ever possessing?
Better to pay the toll. Better to be strong. Better to use that strength to create a new world, one where silly things like memory loss won't matter.
It is better—isn't it?
kasarin/Winter was never Kisame's favorite time of year. But that was before he began spending lazy winter mornings with Obito and Itachi.
kasarin/When they hit the water at the bottom of the cliff, Kisame takes the brunt of the impact, his arm wrapped around Miru's waist, her back pulled tight against his chest. It's a foolish thing to do: if he ends up severely injured, their chances of survival drop to nothing.
But then again, fleeing with Miru instead of killing her was foolish, too.
kasarin/Statement of the creatures calling themselves Kisame and Obito, regarding a memory. Statement taken direct from subjects … at their own insistence.
Statement begins.
kasarin/There is no window by which to see the sunrise. Even so, Obito wakes with the dawn, his head tucked beneath Kisame's chin, his nose filled with the scent of his new partner. He closes his eyes, trying to make sense of the feeling in his chest; then, recognizing it, trying to fight back his trepidation.
kasarin/The growing field of Drift Studies is full of people desperate to study Kisame and Obito's unique bond. On unfortunate occasions, Kisame and Obito find themselves ushered into separate rooms and observed through one-way mirrors, their foul moods mingling despite the distance, hands itching for each other's caress.
This is one of those times.
kasarin/The sun crests the horizon slowly, painting the world in pinks and golds, turning the ocean into an endless shimmering mirror. Like this, it seems no threat could lurk beneath the ocean's waves. Like this, the world seems utterly peaceful.
